Introduction to industrial automation
Industrial automation is defined as the technology needed to make machines that can replace one or more human attributes out of a job.
Depending on the attribute replaced, are distinguished eleven different levels of automation:
Order |
Attribute replaced |

Driven tools with manual control (drill) |
2 |

Single cycle automations (lathes) |
3 |

Industrial automation engineering
Into the realization of their plants and their automated machines, the I.R.I.S. , at the time, has reached the sixth automation level:
this in order to improve the working lives of people, creating machines that perform "heavy work" or "work in the chain".
Tasks that are more and more rarely given to company staff, also to avoid the risk of being crushed by highly automated competition, in consideration of
the high incidence of human resource costs on the cost of the final product.
The area of industrial automation and production of I.R.I.S. is involved in research activities mainly related
to methodologies and technologies for factory automation and administration of robotic production processes.
Design of industrial automation
In the realization of the robotic systems the IRIS is using its engineering,
in which are merged studies in many disciplines both of humanistic nature (such as organized labor, biology, physiology, psychology and linguistics)
and scientific nature (such as automation, electronics, physics, computer science, mathematics and mechanics).
The goal is to give to final client a device on the top of the technology, designed to be easy to use, flexible and robust.
Software for industrial automation
The IRIS , in the management of complex industrial machinery, use both commercial software and its software and often
use the "fuzzy logic" to improve performance in the automated system.
Industrial automation electronic
The IRIS , in the implementation of its industrial automation equipment, use components of the best known global brands (Siemens, Omron, Schneider, Rockwell, Kuka, ABB, Comau, Fanuc, Motoman, and others).
The IRIS offers competitively priced special machines, developed to meet the diverse needs of almost all manufacturing industries. The IRIS also offers tailor-made solutions for small and the large enterprise, including recovery and modification (according to specifications of customers) of any used plant.
